There's Always SOMETHING...

I have to search ALL these people?

P3 of the Invasion is upon us, and I have the answer to my question of what order things are going down in. Next time something happens, it's gonna be major. I'll be online Monday at 6pm UK *just in case*... ^^

So, yesterday was W's Grinding Day, where I decided to 'do' the Cenarion Circle thing. Fortunately for most of the time I was alone in Silithus, so things went pretty fast. There was an issue I remember vaguely reading about concerning how the Cultist gear's drop rates is a bit off and that certain items don't get destroyed when you access a Windstone...

Yes, the droprate's borked. Hats drop a LOT. Chests drop slightly less often and shoulders seemed to drop (at least for me) in groups of three with VERY long gaps in between. By the time I'd killed enough Cultists to take my second try at an Abyssal Lord I'd got the rep I needed anyway. This means W's at 29/30 Exalted Reps and is likely to be seen next grinding Ogres in Nagrand for a selection of Talbuk...

Today's project was the last piece of L270 PvP gears I needed for as full a set of Wrathful as I'm ever likely to see. It's the Isle of Conquest weekend, and I endured several hours of whining, ./ignores and being verbally abused for everything from letting people die to the Hanger being bugged. I kid you not. It's always a good day when you're ignored for not saving someone else's life. You jump on the back of my rocket pal, you look after yourself. If you wanna blame me for 39 other people's stupidity, you're really on your own. Needless to say, I got a (relatively) difficult achievement by accident. Not a bad afternoon's work:

HAT!
I could have a go at updating the Boots and my Belt, but I think I'll leave BG's for a few days.

In the evening I went and healed (on the priest) a 3 Man Maggy Run (500g divided by 3 = worth the effort) and then did ZA with four and helped another mate get a Mojo pet. We rounded up the evening with a push into Blackwing Lair, and I switched healer to Shaman to pick up something I've wanted to get for quite some time:

The sad completest in me is happy, I've wanted this smelt for a while and particularly before Cataclysm. I will be making one bar at least before The Shattering, just because I can :D

All in all, pretty good two days. Tomorrow I need to ensure all the alts have done all the Elemental quests on both factions before I sit back and wait to se what Monday brings...

The One That Got Away

Yesterday's 'Ticked off the Achievement List' job has been not unlike the 'Higher Learning' odyssey in terms of time taken to receive. I know how many fish I've landed before in an attempt to catch it, and I'd hazard a guess there's at least four figure's worth of Longjaw Mud Snappers that have preceded this old git finally being mine. As I discussed with a Guildie yesterday (who I will miss terribly once he's back to work after his enforced sabbatical after a bout of illness) this is actually the easy part of proceedings, it's Old Crafty that's going to be the test as Orgrimmar's going to be teeming with people come Cataclysm, and if I need even a portion of the fish I needed to get his Ironforge-based counterpart...

I also did Tilted yesterday, but there may have been some collusion afoot to achieve it. Amazing that my Rogue managed to get it at exactly the same time... ^^

Today I'm not sure I can stand another day of scraping the bottom of the Achievement barrel, so it's likely to be more grindage, or possibly some instances to remember how playing with four other people works...

Be Afraid!

Scary W presents this post in association with Jin'do!

This is still one of the best looking items of headgear in game, period. Go try for The Hexxer's Cover before it vanishes from ZG forever...

The last day or so has been money-making, rift-tripping and pet-training.

I have a Worm. Called Ear ^^ He's blue, from Maraudon, but does that annoying thing that the Ravagers used to do in TBC of changing skins when he's summoned, so occasionally he's grey and not as awesome. That said the dps he does is scary, and I'll be sticking myself into some randoms over the weekend to see just how much he's capable of at 80. It's looking more and more like it'll be Beast Mastery Spec for Instancing on current pet outputs: Gromit for Heroism, Ear for AoE and Dizzy if we don't have a Priest or a Lock in tow. Part of me still thinks I'll end up needing a pure dps pet for 10 mans in Marks Spec, but that's going to entirely depend on the 85 numbers. Needless to say these are exciting times for your average Hunter.

I also tamed the White Eagle Matriarch from Sholazar. She's now a he, and is called Eddie. It had to be done.

I chose to level these guys not in a five man as I usually do, but by running one of my favourite leather circuits in Gundrak, in the hope I might see a Hatchling. Over 100 Heavy Borean Leather later I'm still raptorless but considerably better off. If all else fails, I'll just keep filling up the stable (ten slots to go ^^)  and running the circuit...

Caveat Emptor

Blizzard seem to be doing this a lot of late: they say they're going to remove something, but if enough complaints are made there's a good chance they'll reverse their position. Nowhere is this more obvious than the about-face that they've done on The Insane achievement. It comes a no surprise therefore to hear another cash cow's getting a reprieve.

Blizzard have decided not to remove the Razzashi Hatchling from the game ^^

We had one in the bank, waiting until post 4.0.1 sale. I suppose we could wait to see how rare it's going to be, but I think we're probably better selling now and feeling slightly guilty about it later.

As the post title says, buyers need to consider their options.

Madness!

Let it be known that in the weeks leading up to Cataclysm, /show helm will be in the ON position and I will be using hats as a medium of relaxation. No, I won't be taking them off (except perhaps if I end up facing Halion or doing anything in ICC, Grats to all the new people who got Kingslayer after we biffed him again on Monday) This means, of course, I need moar headgear...

Achievement Gathering has continued at a reasonable pace, thought when I was asked last night if I was 'actively' achieving I did have to point out that what I can actually do on my own is becoming more and more limited. However, as I've never lucked out and found a rare in Outland since the Achievement was created, yesterday's score was particularly impressive, and I will admit I went looking for that one ^^. The Giant Rat was, as it happens, completely accidental via the Daily Fishing Quest. My list continues to contract at a worrying rate...

As we mentioned the LK Kill, I just want to share something with you:

These are my dps meters from the successful LK attempt. Although I didn't do the highest dps (nods to S the Retri for sterling work and gasps at my husband in second overall tanking with dps that beat our resident hotshot hunter, that's gonna be nerfed) I did top the overall damage done, which I have to say I'm still surprised about. That's also more damage I think I've done anywhere with the Lock which I attribute to some solid advice on what to spec and how to take advantage of my Mastery bonus (by completely ignoring it and stacking haste) That, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of the DoT, an extra 400,000 damage by doing frankly bugger all.

I will ensure W gets some play time in the next few weeks, if I'm top of the meters there's a major nerfbat on it's way for everybody...

Ear to the Ground

It's been a week since the Cultists appeared in Azeroth. It's less than 30 days to launch.

Dunno about you, but I think something might be happening soon...

The Long Haul

I can conclusively state that the best Achievements I've completed in game are the ones that took the longest to do. I know I'm never likely to be first with these things, so you take your satisfaction in the doing of them rather in the completion of them before anyone else. This one is a particular case in point.

Chillin' wiv da Archmage ^^

It's taken the best part of a year for Higher Learning because frankly there's always been something better to do than sit in Dalaran waiting for a spawn. Yesterday I managed a couple more Isle of Conquest targets and between BG's I queued by the last spawn point I needed... and we got there in the end, hence the PvP gears.

I suspect the gaining of Achievements next week will be just as difficult, if not more so.
