And now, it's time for Mount News:

In the next major content patch, we intend to adjust mount requirements to further improve the leveling experience in World of Warcraft. In addition, cast times for summoning all mounts will be reduced to 1.5 seconds, down from 3 seconds. The following is a breakdown of the upcoming cost and level requirement changes we are making for each riding skill.

Apprentice Riding (Skill 75)

• 60% land mount speed
• Requires level 20
• Cost: 4 gold
• Mount cost: 1 gold
• Mail will be sent to players at level 20 guiding them to the riding trainer

Journeyman Riding (Skill 150)

• 100% land mount speed
• Requires level 40
• Cost: 50 gold
• Mount cost: 10 gold
• Mail will be sent to players at level 40 guiding them back to the riding trainer

Expert Riding (Skill 225)

• 150% flying mount speed; 60% land mount speed
• Requires level 60
• Cost: 600 gold (faction discounts now apply)
• Mount Cost: 50 gold
• Can now be learned in Honor Hold (Alliance) or Thrallmar (Horde)

Artisan Riding (Skill 300)

• 280% flying mount speed; 100% land mount speed
• Requires level 70
• Cost: 5,000 gold (faction discounts now apply)
• Mount Cost: 100 gold

I'd heard rumours they were going to drop the basic skill to L10, this is a great deal more palatable. However, what is more significant is the drop for flying skill to 60 and the increase in mount speed. This makes Outland even quicker to clear, and will make the lack of flying mount in Northrend to 77 a lot more palatable.

Ogres have Layers!

So this weekend I have mostly been in Dire Maul.

After a VERY long discussion with a Guildie and what was for me pretty extensive research, including travel across two continents and the mindless slaughter of pirates, Venture Company workers and Giants, there is no doubt that Free Knot (350 rep all 4 Steamweedle factions) and The Gordok Ogre Suit (75 Rep all 4 Steamweedle factions) is really the only way to go if you want to get to Exalted with the Cartel before the next decade begins. I've done 10k in 2 days and I'm SICK! It's a horrible grind and it's as boring as hell and however hard I try and jazz it up to be cool or fun (or that I could write interesting blog posts on it) it's just NOT HAPPENING! The ironic thing about this of course is that at my peak on Saturday there were four other people in the Guild doing exactly the same thing. I came out of the instance on several occasions to find another individual's 16k trader mammoth outside and was forced to vend stuff just because I could. I killed 3 silver spawns, and looted seven blue BoE items. I got all three of the epic LW patterns and sold them all for 100g a throw.

I haven't finished yet, and I think I'm going to kill myself.

As you can see above, Dwarves in Ogre Suits can't ride Tournament mounts properly. Go figure.

I did have other interesting things to report but as I have lost the will to live due to grinding, they will have to wait.
